The word "MAX" stands for
maximum COR, maximum COR zone, maximum ball
speed, maximum clubhead speed and maximum
forgiveness. The r7 CGB MAX incorporates a
variety of technologies that promote all of
these elements.
The r7 CGB MAX generates the maximum COR allowed
by the USGA. That's made possible by the milled
455 stainless steel clubface, which is extremely
thin yet extremely strong. The MAX's high COR
helps generate high initial ball speed, equaling
exceptional distance.
Like TaylorMade metalwoods, the r7 CGB MAX
employs Pull-Face construction, meaning that the
head and the face are created separately. That
allows TaylorMade engineers to mill both sides
of the clubface, so that the Inverted Cone and
grooves can be created to the exacting
specifications required, and so that the face
can be milled perfectly flat.
The r7 CGB MAX is engineered with an
extraordinarily low, deep-back CG position,
which makes it extremely easy to launch the ball
on a high, long trajectory. In fact, TaylorMade
engineers strengthened the lofts of each iron in
order to lower the ball flight slightly. The
result is a high, powerful and penetrating
trajectory that delivers the optimum combination
of carry, distance and control.
The r7 CGB MAX is the largest iron that
TaylorMade has ever created, and because of that
boasts the largest clubface area, which helps
make the MAX extremely forgiving on mis-hit
The r7 CGB MAX is engineered for players that
desire an iron that incorporates the most
advanced technology available, and the highest
performance possible in terms of power,
distance, forgiveness and ease of use
