For years, golfers chose shafts based on Launch and Spin:

That system works in theory, but in real swings it often isn’t enough. Two golfers with the same launch and spin needs can still deliver the club very differently.

That’s where Rotation comes in.

What Rotation Fixes?

If your shaft doesn’t match your rotation pattern, you can experience:

• Two‑way misses (not just left or right — both)
• Timing issues through impact
• Inconsistent face control
• A feeling that the club “doesn’t square up the same way twice”

Rotation looks at how your body turns, how your lead arm and shaft align, and when they form a straight line through impact. Matching a shaft to rotation helps stabilize delivery, tighten dispersion, and reduce those unpredictable misses.

How to Tell Your Rotation Type Without a Fitting

Your rotation pattern is usually consistent because it’s determined by your body and your natural swing. A simple way to identify it is to have someone record a face‑on video of your swing. From that angle, you can see how your lead arm (right arm for left‑handed golfers) and the shaft line up through impact.

Focus on the moment around impact and note when the shaft and lead arm form a straight line.

High Rotation

• The lead arm and shaft line up at impact or even slightly before.
• Your hands appear centered in the middle of your body at impact.

Medium Rotation

• The shaft and lead arm line up just after impact.
• Your hands are roughly over your lead leg when they form a straight line.

Low Rotation

• The shaft doesn’t line up with the lead arm until well after impact.
• Your hands are almost outside your lead leg before the arm and shaft finally form a straight line.
